“Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord Almighty” (Isaiah 6:3).

In our study of Jesus Christ in Romans 8 we have seen that He died for our sin. In His death He dealt with the sin problem, thus freeing us from condemnation and opening the door for our living victorious over sin.

We find this truth stated again in Romans 8:34: “Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died.” When we trust in Christ Jesus, we do not face condemnation from the Judge who will condemn. He’s on our side.

Verse 34 goes on to say, “Christ Jesus, who died – more than that, who was raised to life – is at the right hand of God.” He who died was raised to life. Verse 11 indicates that “the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.”

Again you have the trinity involved here: Jesus Christ is raised from the dead by God the Father through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Christ was resurrected from among the dead. God the Father sent Jesus on this mission (verse 3). Jesus Christ carried out this mission by laying down His life for His own (John 10:15). The Holy Spirit enabled Him to fulfill His mission (Hebrews 9:14). God the Father raised Jesus Christ from the dead (verse 11). Jesus Christ took His life back again (John 10:17). The Holy Spirit quickened or restored His body, only now to be immortal (verse 11).

We have reason to praise our triune God for His active involvement as three distinct persons, working in perfect harmony, providing for our salvation. Take time to worship and praise Him.
