We’ve been looking at how God put together a lot of seemingly small, insignificant things to set the stage for the big event of sending His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to become our Savior.

You’ll notice also in the Christmas event it was shepherds who were notified first, not the religious or political leaders. Then there was no room in Bethlehem except a stable where Joseph and Mary had to prepare for and take care of the baby who would one day rule over Israel. What a humble beginning for the One who, in fact, would eventually rule over all the world as King of kings, and Lord of Lords.

And why was it Simeon and Anna, two old folks who spent their time in the temple, unnoticed by the people and the religious leaders, who were the ones to whom God revealed the truth that Jesus was the promised Redeemer? God tells us that He never shares His glory with another. But in addition, He makes it clear each of these places and people were important to Him. They were a part of His grand plan.

Though you might feel insignificant or unimportant, God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life. You’re why Jesus came. He came to purchase your freedom with His death on the cross. He is God’s love gift to you.

Accept Jesus Christ as the gift of life and you will discover what God wants to do in and through you. Don’t wait for Christmas eve, or Christmas day. Today is the day of opportunity for you. Don’t delay.

If you receive Jesus Christ as God’s gift to you, then share what you’ve experienced with someone else so they can receive the same gift. I’d also like to hear from you.
