Jesus told his disciples in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” He is more than the way to God. He is God. He said in John 10:30, “I and the Father are one.”
As God, He is love. The Father loved the world so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to become our Savior. The Holy Spirit loved the world so much that He enabled Jesus Christ to accomplish His mission on earth. Jesus Christ loved the world so much that He willingly came into the world and identified with us by becoming a man. As the God/man, He went to the cross and died for our sins. If He were asked, “How much do you love the world?” He would answer, “Enough to die for the sin of the world.”
Paul said in Galatians 2:20, “The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” I can give the same testimony. Jesus Christ loved me so much that He gave Himself to die for my sin on the cross, so that by faith in Him I might live.
The reason He did this is because “the wages of sin is death,” according to Romans 6:23. That’s what separated me from God. I couldn’t do anything about it. I was helplessly lost. Jesus loved me so much that He took my place. He took the rap for me. Based on His sacrifice I could be forgiven.
What He did for me, He did for you. You can be forgiven if you acknowledge your sin and need of a Savior. Then, turn to Jesus Christ who loves you, and ask Him to become your Savior. When you do, He will forgive you and come into your life.
