It is good to praise the Lord.  (Psalm 92:1)

In our study of Romans 11 we’ve thus far identified a title - The Mystery of God’s Master Plan – and a key verse, verse 32.  We’ve shared a significant truth, some cross references, and some problems we encountered.  Then we developed an outline and amplified it.  Finally we developed applications we can make to our lives based on what we found in the chapter.

The final step in this study is to wrap up what we’ve found into a summary statement.  This can be a succinct one liner or a brief paragraph.  I did not find it easy to summarize this chapter.

Paul answers two questions, “Did God reject his people?” and “Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery?”  He shows how God in the past and during Paul’s time had a remnant from among his people, chosen by grace, and will keep his promise to restore all Israel when the full number of Gentiles has been saved.  Until that day a remnant of Gentiles, chosen by grace, are being saved.

The miracle is that anyone is saved, Israelite or Gentile, because all have been bound over to disobedience and are thus under the condemnation of God.  But all those chosen by grace, who act upon the truth by faith, will experience mercy by God.  Don’t worry about God doing what He has planned, “for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable” (verse 29).  Nor should we worry about whether or not we have been chosen by grace.  The Gospel is offered to all, and all who believe will find that God will have mercy on them (verse 32).  No wonder Paul breaks into his doxology of praise as he contemplates all of this.

Why not use his words in Romans 11:33-36 to praise your God and Savior.
