As a change As a change of pace in our effort to read through the Bible in two years let’s now look at the Gospel of Luke. This will be a good preparation for the Christmas season.

Let me ask you: Do you have certainty in your faith?  Many question the legitimacy of basic Christian truth claims.  This is not new.  As early as the first century, foundation truths of Christianity were attacked.  Luke, the doctor, set out to investigate the evidence.

Luke 1:1 points out, many had undertaken to draw up accounts of what happened in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.  He did a thorough investigation of these records as well as checked out the verbal records still being circulated by eye-witnesses.  Once he gathered and evaluated this information he wrote up an orderly account known as the Gospel of Luke, for his friend Theophilus,  Why another account?  So that his friend, Theophilus, could know the certainty of what he had been taught.

Once you spread this information out, sort and structure it into an outline.  Title: Luke the Christian Apologist. The main points could be: 1. A careful investigation.  2. A thorough investigation. 3. An organized presentation of his findings.  The conclusion would be to provide certainty for those who believe.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Christianity is not a “leap in the dark”.  It is rational, historically verified and experientially dynamic.  You don’t need to be ashamed or defensive regarding what you believe as a Christian.  You can share your Christian experience and what you believe with confidence and joy!
