I said in our last visit I was sharing my last couplet of truth about my God and Savior Jesus Christ. Well, I thought of another. It grew out of the point I made that He is exclusive in His relationships. When I trusted in Him He drew me into an intimate relationship with Him that’s been unbelievable. He goes before me daily and is with me as I go through it. At the end of the day He is still with me. Praise His holy name. He knows all I’m going to face before I face it. All of this is just a small, tiny glimpse into the truth that Jesus knows everything. He is omniscient! That is both comforting and disconcerting. It is comforting to know what is declared in Psalm 139:16, “All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them.” In Isaiah 55:9 God explains, “As the heavens are higher than the earth so are my…thoughts than your thoughts.” On the other hand it is disconcerting to know I can’t hide anything from Him. He knows when I fall short and fail. He knows I’m a sinner, and my sin stands between us. It is comforting to know, however, He loves me and is willing to forgive me if I confess my sin to Him. And when He forgives He forgets. Listen to Isaiah 43:25: “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.” So here is this truth in a couplet: He knows everything about me yet totally and forever forgets whatever sins I confess to Him. Isn’t that amazing?
