The last book of the Bible is best identified by the opening words, “The revelation of Jesus Christ.” If you find the book hard to understand let me encourage you to primarily look for the various names and descriptions given to Jesus Christ. Meditate on these. Ask yourself, “How can these names and descriptions of Jesus Christ enrich and benefit me as I face the challenges of each day?”

Then listen to verse 3 of chapter 1, “Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.” God promises to bless you if you read this book. It doesn’t say He will bless you if you understand it. Just read it. It also says He will bless you if you hear it read. Again, it doesn’t qualify the blessing by requiring you to understand it. Just listen. Those are two disciplines I would like to remind you about as we come to the close of our project to read through the Bible before the end of this year. Read and listen. Read and listen.

Jesus Christ will begin to shine forth from the pages of this book as you read and listen. You’ll read about sin, rebellion, judgment, the devil and hell. But in the midst of it all you will see the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Pray before you read. Search for every reference to Jesus Christ. Meditate upon what it says. Listen to what He says. Then pray you will live in such a way that you’ll be ready to meet Him when He comes for His own. We’ll do some studies as we read through the book that I trust will be helpful. Join us as we read and listen
