As I was working on developing the last point I made in our study of 1 Corinthians 9:19 a thought occurred to me. Those whose lives make a significant impact on others usually go the extra mile in what they do. They add that little extra that the average individual doesn’t do.

As I was thinking about this I wondered how I might implement this idea into my normal life experience. I’m already busy and don’t think God wants me to add another major project to my life. So I thought if I alerted myself to notice opportunities that come along and endeavor to respond to at least one a day I would make some progresss.

You might ask what that would look like? Here is what I had in mind.

When coming to a stop sign and you notice someone waiting to pull out from a drive, stop and wave them on ahead of you. Or if you’re in a line at the grocery store with a basket full of groceries and the person behind you has two or three items in their hand, let them go ahead of you. Or, if you’re driving down the highway and notice someone across the way who is out of gas take a moment to pray for them.

If while listening to the news you hear of some tragedy like the tsunami in Asia, take a moment to pray for them. Or if you see someone do something good, thank them for their act of kindness.

I wasn’t thinking of adding something to my life that’d be a burden. But I thought, if I did this most of my days it would total over 300 acts of kindness in a year. If everyone in my church did it – just think of the good done for Christ!
