There is so much in the book of Hebrews that I would like to touch on. The format of this program, however, doesn’t allow for that.
For example, chapter 7 speaks of the superiority of Jesus over the Levitical priesthood. In the midst of explaining how Jesus is superior you find this powerful statement in verse 25: “Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.”
The word ‘completely’ can be translated ‘to the uttermost’ or ‘forever.’ Jesus’ ability is limitless. The point is that no matter how hopeless a life might seem to be, He is able to save it completely. Jesus Christ can save you, no matter what you have done, no matter how you feel. All you need to do is come to God through Jesus.
The reason for this is further explained by the writer. Jesus is able to do this for you if you come to God through Him, “because he always lives to intercede for you.” He is a living, caring, competent Savior.
Listen to verses 26-27: “Such a high priest meets our need – one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.”
His one sacrifice was adequate to take away your sins, no matter what they are, if you just come to God through Him. Pray, “God I come to you for salvation through Jesus Christ.” Then, I’d appreciate it if you would let me know about your decision.
