Today we are reaching another milestone. This is program number 6800! It’s hard to believe, but Dick Lee, station manager of WCRF in Cleveland, Ohio, and I have been producing this program for 27 years now.
What a blessing it has been for me to work with Dick over these years. Only God knows how many lives have been touched by this brief program that goes out five days a week. For the last 15 years it has also been produced in Spanish by Don Strong.
We have experienced what the psalmist shares in Psalm 37:3-7: “Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will have you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.”
These instructions are God’s antidote to fretting about how things are going for you. You might not be accomplishing all you would like to see happen. You might wonder why others seem to be blessed more than you are, especially others that you think are not upright in the way they do things.
The Psalmist basically says, leave that to God. Trust in the Lord and do good. Get your eyes off of others and outcomes, and delight yourself in the Lord. Focus on cultivating your relationship with God. Then commit what you do to the Lord, trust in Him, be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him.
Do not fret. Just trust God and obey Him.
