In the devotional study approach I introduced in our last visit I suggested you try to answer questions like: What does this portion of the Bible teach about God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit? We looked at the book of Titus and answered the question about God the Father. Now let’s find out what this book teaches about God the Son, Jesus Christ.

He’s identified as God our Savior. Grace and truth come from Him and the Father. He’s referred to as our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. His return is described as a glorious appearing. He gave himself for us to redeem us, purify us, and have a personal relationship with us.

After reflecting on these truths about Jesus Christ you could organize the information as follows:

  1. Jesus Christ is God.
  2. He is our Savior.
  3. He will return.

Once you’ve grasped what is said about Jesus Christ think about how this truth should impact you.

First, since Jesus Christ has done for me what is necessary for me to be saved, I should trust in Him as my Savior. If you’ve never done this, I’d encourage you to do so right now. Since He is God He’s capable of saving you.

Second, whatever your need, He can handle it. Trust Him.

Third, once you’ve trusted Him you have a blessed hope. That’s what Paul calls His glorious appearing. He’s coming back! The last chapter hasn’t been written.

Your circumstances might be difficult right now. You might not know how you’re going to get through them. But if you’ve trusted in Jesus Christ, be of good cheer. He’s coming back. It’ll be worth it all then.
